February 20, 2009 Anniston Councilmen Oppose Chief Ladiga Expansion
The Anniston Star reported that three Councilmen, while saying they support the Chief Ladiga Trail, are opposing its southward extension into Anniston. The three Councilmen are Ben Little, Herbert Palmore and John Spain.

Woodland-Calhoun Century Challenge
The City of Anniston [Alabama], Parks and Recreation Department will host the 17th Annual Woodland-Calhoun Century Challenge Bike Ride on March 28th. There will be four ride options available, 25 miles, 50 miles, 75 miles and a challenging 100 miles. Registration begins at 6:30 AM and rides start at 7:30 AM. May 25, 2009 GRITS 2009 Memorial Day Bike Ride
GRITS (Georgia Rails Into Trails Society) will host the annual Memorial Day Bike Ride on May 25, 2009. All rides will depart from the Cedartown Depot in Cedartown, Georgia.

There will be ride options of 62.1 miles, 47 miles and 20 miles. Rest stops and SAG support will be availalble.

As of March 25, 2009, Registration Brochures are not yet available. They will be posted on TrailExpress as soon as they are available.
